My journey to photography was pretty unconventional. As a kid, my creativity came out in song writing and creating dances to Whitney Houston songs. I have always loved people and celebrating moments was always really important to me. My first memories with a camera are from having disposable cameras at summer camp. It was so exciting to get my prints back from the Walmart print lab! And also very funny!
In 2009, my husband gave me a nice camera for my birthday and I started to learn all about how to use it and took tons of pictures. Then in 2010, a family said, “hey! I will pay you if will take our pictures for us!” and I said a resounding “YES!!” and I fell in love. I fell in love with meeting up with people at a location, creating images, and getting excited as the moments unfolded in front of me. I fell in love with my clients becoming dear friends and getting to come back year after year to capture their lives. I fell in love with getting to watch kids grow up in front of my lens. I fell in love with the people and the creativity of it all.
Over a decade into this, I have served hundreds of families as they have welcomed babies into their families, celebrated birthdays and graduations, and marked the unique stage of life they are in. It is the most fun job! (and I have the BEST clients!)
